Series Four – Land/Water Double
Test Four is a Land/Water Double. The mat faces Northwest on the side of a hill looking out across a valley with ponds on both the left and right. There is a dyke between the two ponds and a big hay bale.
The left bird has mowed strips of light cover that is angled at the bottom left to the top right and a group of three large bushes spaced apart in front of the fall area.
The right bird is in low cover with the correct line putting them in the water. If they take the land bridge they will come out left of the guns which is incorrect.
Bird One is a dead drake that is thrown to the right at 175 yards from
the line and right of the mat. The line to this bird is down the hill
then into the left side of the right pond. Once they cross the up they
will travel up a short hill to retrieve this bird.
Bird Two is also a dead drake that is thrown to the right landing 205 yards from the line. The dogs go down a hill, through a pond and then over a levee. After the levee, they will cross a road, travel up a hill and behind a clump of cover on this wide expansive hill is where the bird is.
This test has two gunners at each station. The stand-out gunners have be instructed to face in a neutral position (face the line).
