On our first day of the 2019 National Retriever Derby Club Championship and we now have completed our Second Series. We started this Land Double test at 11:17 am with test dog Doc and handler Judy coming to the line.
We started this series with 32 dogs. We had one dog with a pick up.
This test took about 4.5 minutes per dog to complete.
The callbacks have already been announced and the only dog dropped is #16.
The third series will start with 31 dogs, with dog #7 being the first competing dog to run.

Series 2 - In The Books

31. Watermarks Shadow (Shadow), LM, Bill Hillman
Left Bird - Had to re-heel - Excellent line directly to the bird.
Right Bird - Perfect line to this bird as well.

30. Truckee Play It Sam (Sam), LM, Jack Unbehaun
Left Bird - Sam went across the road and into the cover where he got deep and back right. He crossed the road and got back in front of the guns and into the cover to get his bird.

29. Coppertop Four Ways To Sunday (Sunday), LM, Bill Bailey
Left Bird - bird fell short of the cover - Sunday went straight to it.
Right Bird - Sunday came in behind the guns and went out to the green clump. Missing the bird, he got it on the third time down.

28. Just Watch My Buns (Lacey), LF, Michael Moroz
Left Bird - Lacey crossed the road and went into the cover to only hunt deep. She came back to the bird and got it.
Right Bird - She went out left of the guns to the large bush. She hunted deep then worked her way back to get the bird.

27. Flyway's The Say Hey Kid (Willie), LM, Luann Pleasant
Left Bird - Willie crossed the road and went wide left and out of sight. He came back up into the cover where he got his bird.
Right Bird - He stayed high coming in wide left of the guns. He got out to the bush where he hunted deep and in the bush. Willie had stopped a few times and it looked like he found something but it was not the bird. Eventually he worked it out and brought back his bird.

26. Cache La Poudre J.J. Johnston (J.J.), LM, John Goettl
Left Bird - Great line cross the road that brought him into the cover and the bird.
Right Bird - J.J. went left of the gunners that put him behind them. Making a right turn, he went straight back to get his bird.

24. Coolwater's Commander-In-Chief (Trump), LM, Alexandra Washburn
Left Bird - Trump went on a straight line to cross the road and get to the fall area. One left turn into the cover and he was on his bird.

Left Bird - Pireaux went across the road and into the cover to go straight to her bird.

21. Topbrass Pattee Creek Hutch (Hutch), GM, Jim Buckley
Left Bird - Hutch crossed the road and went into the cover. He got a little deep but then came back into the cover and got his bird.

20. Watuaga's Ghost Casper (Casper), LM, Stephen O'Connell
Left Bird - Casper went down the right side of the road and got deep of the guns. He hunted deep right, but then worked his way back to the cover and his bird.

19. ISR Broke Bad (Smack), LM, Bill Bailey
Left Bird - Smack went and crossed the road to get into the cover where he got his bird.
Right Bird - Going wide left out to the left side of the big bush and deep of the guns, Smack hunted an extended area, but then worked his way back to the bird.

18. Seaside Smart Little Lena (Lena), LF, Luann Pleasant
Left Bird - Lena went into the cover, and with a few quick turns she got deep. She went back into the cover to retrieve her bird.
Right Bird - She got out left of the guns to the bush. Getting deep of the guns, she hunted and then worked her way back to the bird.

17. PepperJack's Hunt The Blue (Hunter), LM, Misty Melo
Left Bird - Hunter got wide left going out through the cover. He made a quick adjustment to his line and got the bird.
Right Bird - Straight to the fall area and on his bird.

Pick-Up 16. Ford's Drive By (Tag), LM, owner & handler Jack Sheets
Left Bird - Tag went out across the road and looped deep. Then he got deep right and then crossed the road. He was going to switch birds but Jack picked him up.

Left Bird - A.G. drove hard across the road and out to the area in front of the guns. He turned left into the cover and was out with his bird.
