10th Series - Test Dogs

Substituted test dog "Just" with handler Sue George came to the line at 2:31 pm.

Flyer - Just went down the hill and out on the point then swam to the far shore and went straight to the bird.

Long Left - He went down splashing across the terraces, he did not get into the first pond but went in the second and third ponds. Getting out of the last pond he went straight out to get his bird.

Doc and Judy came to the line at 2:39 pm.

Flyer - Doc angled across the terraces and went straight into the pond. He swam to the base of the far side point and got out to go straight to the fall area and then on to the bird.

Long Left - Going down the terraces Doc past the first pond and got into the second one for a short swim. Going over a levee, he quickly went into the third pond. Getting across this pond he got out and went to the bird.

Test Dogs - Ninth Series

Pendragon's Encore SH "Katy," LF with owner/handler Sue George

Left Bird - Katy went down the hill and through the pond. Getting out and going up and under the arc to the top of the h ill, Katy made one loop deep then came back to the bird.

Right Bird - Getting down the hill Katy toe nailed the left pond. She used the land bridge and went up the hill and under the arc, then came back for her bird.

Meadow Woods Doc Holiday, "Doc," LM with owner/handler Judy Despenas

Left Bird - Doc went down the hill into the left pond. Getting out he climb the hill to the fall area then pounced on the bird.

Right Bird - Getting down the hill, Doc got into a piece of the left pond then onto the land bridge. He ran the hill and looped behind the guns to go straight to his bird.

Eighth Series - Test Dogs

Test Dog Doc with Judy came to the line at 12:43 pm.

Right - Doc went up the hill and behind the guns. He then cut across the road to the tree and got his bird.

Left Retired - Doc drove up to the far hill right of the corner. He then turned straight into his bird.

Test Dog Katy with Sue

Right - Katy went up the hill to the area left of the guns. She hunted this area hard then switched birds. She had to be handled back to this bird.

Left Retired - She went up the middle and went wide left and deep. She hunted the wrong pieces of cover. An extended hunt deep and she had to handled.

Seventh Series - Test Dogs

Katy and Sue George came to the line at 7:56 am.

Flyer - Katy got into the first pond and angled left out of it. She got onto the land bridge, up the hill deep and ended up behind the guns. She came back to the fall area and on her bird.

Bird #2 - Getting into the first pond Katy swam and got to and over the levee, then she ran around the top of the second pond to get into the third pond. This actually was a good move to keep guns in sight. She gets out on the far side of the third pond and went up the hill across the road behind the guns going straight to the bird.

Doc and Judy came to the line at 8:05 am.

Flyer - Going around the first pond and over the land bridge, then toe nailed the down side. Going up the hill getting just deep of the bird, one loop and got it.

Bird 2 - Into the first pond and going over the levee then getting into the of the second pond and over the second levee, Doc went into the third pond. He swam all the way then exited and went up the hill straight to his bird.

Series Six - Test Dogs

 Kaufaxx with handler Lauren Hays Curtis came to the line at 3:55 pm.

Short Left Bird - An angled back throw - Kaufaxx took one quick turn and was on his bird.

Long Right Bird - He tumbled right before the cedar at the base of the hill. He went up to the guns but was hunting a large area left of them. He went deep, then to the right to get his bird.

Katy with handler Sue George came to the line.

Short Left Bird - Good initial line, but Katy hunted deep. Working her way back she went down and got the bird.

Long Right Bird - She went down the incline of the dam that put her left and deep of the gunners and the area of the fall. After numerous passes deep the gunners stood up and Katy got on her bird.

Series Five - Test Dogs

We have a test dog substitution – Bayou Teche Perfect Game, "Koufaxx," LM handled by Lauren Hays Curtis.


Our first test dog, Katy with handler Sue George came to the line at 12:05 pm.

Flyer - Katy went out past the mound and straight to the bird.

Right Bird - Going up the hill into the cover, Katy hunted the cover hard. It was very thing and a very extended hunt, but she got it.

NOTE: The marshal went out and moved the guns on the right bird and changed the throw to where it is a right angle along the milo and not deep in it.

Our second test dog, Kaufaxx with handler Lauren Hays Curtis at 12:25 pm.

Flyer - Kaufaxx went out through the gap deep of his bird. He took a loop deep right and hunted deep. He then came back around the guns, still hunting both left and right. The guns stood up and helped him out since it was a very short bird.

Right Bird - Kaufaxx went across the field to the milo and made one turn right and got his bird.

Series Four - Test Dogs

Left Bird - Excellent line towards the guns. Doc hunted left and right in the fall area and got his bird.

Right Bird - Doc went down the hill then crossed the land bridge, which took him left of the guns into the road taking him deep left. He came back around to get his bird.

Katy with handler Sue George came to the line at 7:55 am.

Left Bird - Katy went down the hill and crossed the pond. She got over the levee then crossed the road. Getting up the hill between the cover, she missed the bird and hunted deep across the hill side, then she got wide left.

Right Bird - Getting down the hill, Katy crossed the levee, went up the hill left of the guns and had a wide left deep hunt. She worked it out and got her bird.

Test 3 - Test Dogs

Madge and Sol came to the line at 2:17 pm.

Madge went through the first pond along the slope of the land. He entered the second pond and kept a great line out and up the hill of the far shore to the bird.

Doc and Judy came to the line at 2:26 pm.

Doc went down the hill and into the first pond, going over the point he went up and over the land bridge to enter the second pond that he swam to get to the hill where he went straight up to the bird.

Series Two - Test Dogs

Doc and Judy came to the line at 11:17 am.

Bird One - Doc crossed the road and out to the bird - Very Nice

Bird Two - Doc held the hill but came out behind the guns where he was hunting deep left at the large bush. He then came back to the guns and out to get his bird.

*** The judges requested for the guns to face the way they threw the bird.***

Madge and Sol came to the line.

Bird One - Madge crossed the road to the fall area where she made a few passes before finding her bird.

Bird Two - She held the side of the hill, then turned in front of the guns and straight to get her bird.

Test One - Test Dogs

First test dog is a female; Beaver Creek's White Lightning "Madge" handled by Sol Semmler from South Dakota came to the line at 7:44 am.

Rooster Flyer - Perfect line for a quick retrieve

Dead Rooster - Came in right of the guns and hunted the cover strip behind the guns. She worked her way to the left and got the bird.

Second test dog is a male; Meadowbrook's Doc Holiday "Doc" handled by Judy Despenas came to the line at 7:48 am.

Rooster Flyer - Charged on an angle down the hill to the fall area. Taking a quick turn through the strips of cover and got his bird,.

Dead Rooster - Straight down the hill to his bird.
