Water Double
Test Nine is a Water Double. The mat sits on top of a hill facing north. At the bottom of the hill are two ponds separated by a land bridge. There are six Avery decoys in the right corner of the left pond. There is also a large clump of weeds 20 to 30 feet in front of the line that will influence the dog's line to the right bird. Across the pond the hillside rises at a steep angle to the right of the mat. On the far hill sits the gun stand for bird one. This is a dead drake is thrown to the right and landing under the drip line of a cluster of large trees. The line to this bird is down the hill into the right pond and up the hill going right of the guns and to the bird.
Bird Two is slightly left of the mat about 4/5 of the way up the far hill. This dead hen duck is thrown to the left on an angle back just behind a large clump of brush. The line to this bird is down the hill, through the left pond, then going up the far hill right of the brush pile to the bird at 160 yards.
